Quality control system for food production lines, capable of detecting cooking degree, shape, and size of the product, and automatically rejecting those that do not meet the established standards.

This project consists of designing a quality control system for a factory in the food industry. The client requires the system to be capable of detecting the product's degree of cooking, shape, and size, rejecting any products that do not meet the required quality standards. This quality control must be applied to two production lines within the factory.

To meet the project's requirements, we have implemented various systems.

Machine vision

This system consists of a color camera and a PC, both specifically designed for machine vision.

Using this system, along with specially designed lighting for the application and high-speed triggers, we carry out product inspection.

The PC managing this system communicates with the PLC via digital signals.

This machine vision system is installed in duplicate, as product inspection is required on two production lines.

PLC

In this case, a compact PLC has been selected, consisting of a power supply, CPU, 12 digital inputs, and 8 digital outputs.

The PLC is responsible for transferring the product rejection commands to the ejectors, which carry out their function using high-pressure air jets.
