Design, wiring and programming of two machines for inserting plastic parts into metal parts
Design, wiring, and programming of two machines for inserting plastic parts into metal parts. The machine's feeding system uses rotating drums that place the parts one by one on a conveyor belt. A robot controlled by machine vision then picks up the part using a gripper system and inserts the O-ring into the part. The process ends with another machine vision camera checking the part to validate the process.
The control system consists of two Mitsubishi anthropomorphic robots controlled by a single PLC, two touchscreens for operator interfaces, one HALCON-licensed PC that controls four machine vision cameras simultaneously: two for controlling the robots, and two for performing online quality control. All necessary safety enclosures and certifications are included.
